A nation-wide project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, University of Pennsylvania

WHAT:
FORUM: "Student Voices" in Council Chambers

WHEN:
Thursday, May 19th, 9:30 a.m. at Government Affairs and Labor Committee

WHERE:
City Hall's Council Chambers (2nd Floor, 600 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle)

Note from Councilmember's Office:
High School students from Seattle's Chief Sealth and Northgate Middle College High Schools visit President Jan Drago's Government and Labor Committee to present reports on issues they have researched while students from Garfield and Center House High Schools listen and ask questions.

Student Voices is a nation-wide project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania that provides a curriculum for high school social studies programs to encourage students to get involved in their local communities - local government and local politics.

"Councilmembers were impressed when, during the Fall 2003 budget hearing presentations were made by Center House High School students in support of increased funding for human services," said Council President Jan Drago. "This forum provides a venue for even more students to engage their elected officials in discussions of public policy issues."
