About RiverWalk

RiverWalk at New Farm with the Story Bridge and Brisbane CBD skyline in the backgroundBrisbane's RiverWalk connects more than 20 kilometres of pathways, roads, bridges and riverside parks along the Brisbane River.

The RiverWalk map shows you where you can follow the pathways to walk or ride alongside the Brisbane river. It also shows you the location of ferry terminals and the routes that CityCats and City Ferries take along the river. Use the map to help you plan your RiverWalk journey.

You can travel along RiverWalk on the north bank of the Brisbane River between the University of Queensland Campus at St Lucia and Teneriffe. On the south bank you can travel from the West End ferry terminal at Orleigh Park to Dockside at Kangaroo Point.

RiverWalk connects to Brisbane's network of bikeways. In some instances, cyclists and pedestrians share paths, occasionally there are separate paths and at times you'll need to use roads, parks or CityCats and City Ferries to complete your journey. At key locations, RiverWalk provides access to wharves, jetties and other maritime features as part of the river experience.

The RiverWalk project isn't complete yet: in future years Council will upgrade and develop new RiverWalk sections in Highgate Hill, Hawthorne and St Lucia.
