Villa In the Community
Villa in the Community have one main aim - to put the fun back into football for children!
Headed up by Duncan Riddle and assisted by qualified coaches Alan Thomason, Joe Hunt and Nigel Macrow, the department goes from strength to strength.
Do you want to defend like Mellberg? Or tackle like McCann? Or maybe pass like Petrov? Or even score like Baros? If so, get started by joining up by one of our football schemes!
There are many different schemes run by the coaches:
This sees coaches visit schools to run their PE programmes. They work with many schools from different areas in the West Midlands and concentrate on boys and girls, between the ages of four and 12.
Coaches visit schools and organise football coaching for an hour after lessons.
Boys and girls are invited to join Villa's coaching team for non-stop football fun, regardless of ability. There are three sections - skills, drills and small sided games for seven-14-year-olds; dribbling, shooting and passing for mini-kickers (five-six-year-olds) as well as another course for goalkeepers.
Join the coaching team every Saturday morning at the Indoor Academy. The coaching courses are run in five week blocks, for three different age groups as well as a specialist course for goalkeepers.
Coaches provide football lessons at various inner-city locations on Saturday mornings.
Schools visit the ground for one day and children complete classroom work, produce a radio programme and receive football coaching - all based on healthy living.
Kickin Kids Parties
Children have their birthday parties at Villa Park and receive football coaching and a ground tour.
