fpa provides comprehensive and objective information to the public and professionals on all aspects of contraception, abortion and sexual health through its:

Sexual Health Direct Helpline and enquiry service

Open Monday to Friday, our national helplines offer confidential advice on your individual contraceptive and sexual health needs, as well as details of your nearest clinic, abortion or contraceptive service. To get in touch - visit Contacting us.

Library and information service

fpa's unique Library and Information Service is available to everyone in the UK. We hold the latest statistical, medical, legal, policy and sociological information on topics such as contraception, sexually transmitted infections, sexual behaviour, sex education and service provision.

Our services include:

  • reference library, with visits by prior appointment
  • enquiry service by phone, email or letter
  • selected reference lists from our in-house database
  • photocopies of material subject to current copyright law
  • factsheets.
