definition:

Sibrel is a documentary filmmaker whose famous work describes a US government hoax to fake Apollo missions.

skeptical angle:

Sibrel's work is discredited among astronomers and many film-analysis experts, but he still has a following of conspiracy buffs.

In September 2002, Sibrel was ambushed Buzz Aldrin in a hotel lobby, and received a punch, catapulting him into news headlines for the day.

Sibrel has had previous confrontations with Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, as well as Jackie Dannenberg wife of Konrad Dannenberg (a rocket pioneer).

This is apparently not the first time that Sibrel has used a devious tactic to gain an interview with an astronaut. It is also not the first time that he received an "energetic" response from his victim. Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot Ed Mitchell describes his experience:

"Sibrel faked his way into my home with false History Channel credentials for an interview. After about 3-4 minutes, he popped the bible question. Realizing who he was, I maintained my cool enough to swear on his bible, then ended the interview and tossed him out of the house, with a boot in his rear."
