We offer a variety of shipping options and competitive rates to meet your needs. All orders ship on the first working day after we get them unless merchandise is out of stock. Because we try to keep all our offerings in stock, backordered items are the exception, not the rule. Shipping & handling fees are based on the size of your order and the speed at which you wish to receive it. For multiple-volume book and video sets, each volume counts as one item. Audiotape sets count as one item.

Our most economical Standard Shipping is the default shipping choice on our web site for all domestic shipments. To view your other options, please click the "Change Shipping Method" button on the checkout page and make your choice. Other choices for domestic shipments include Priority Mail, Expedited Ground through DHL, and Next Day Air (see details below).

If you are ordering $100 or more in merchandise, and your order is shipping to one U.S. address, you have your choice of FREE STANDARD SHIPPING (Media Mail via USPS) or EXPEDITED DHL GROUND FOR ONLY $3 (the default unless you change it). No fine print, no items it doesn't apply to, and no requirement that all items ship together.

Unlike Amazon and other booksellers, we do not charge an extra shipping fee if some items ship separately. On orders shipping within the United States, we ship all available items immediately, followed by shipment of backordered item when they arrive, with shipping charges calculated as if all items had shipped together. (The only exception to the "ship ahead" policy is our "Advance Order" items. Read more about them, below.) You are not actually charged for the backordered items or that portion of the shipping until they are ready to ship. Your invoice included in your initial shipment will tell you if any of your items are backordered and will usually tell you when they are expected. Out of stock items are normally expected within 2-3 weeks. When an item goes out-of-stock, it may appear as "in stock" on the web site until the next daily inventory update.

If we have an email address on file for you, you will receive an email confirmation when your LFB order has shipped. Orders using Expedited shipping will also receive an email with their tracking number(s).

Shipping Outside the United States: On orders shipping outside the United States, we no longer send any shipments by untrackable means, allowing us to fully guarantee all international shipments. While in some cases, these untrackable methods were cheaper, the high percentage of lost shipments increased those costs to the point of making them uneconomical.

We sympathize with our international customers, and have done our best to bring you the lowest rates for reliable delivery service. We do not make ANY profit on our shipping charges. We have negotiated extremely competitive International Express rates to most countries, bringing trackability and guaranteed 3-5 day delivery to international shipments. In many cases, International Express is actually CHEAPER than the slower, less reliable methods we previously offered!

We regret that we can no longer offer free shipping on international orders; however, we are instead offering a flat 10% DISCOUNT off the merchandise total on all orders of $200 or more in merchandise for our customers shipping their orders outside the United States. (This discount will automatically be applied to all orders of $200+ that are shipping outside the U.S.)

When there are backordered items in orders shipping outside the United States, we offer you three options on the order confirmation page. They are: 1) delete any out-of-stock items from your order, 2) hold the order for a designated (by you) number of days for backordered items, or 3) email you before shipping to tell you about backordered items and confirm that you still want the rest of the order.

Shipping on Advance Orders: In response to requests, we now offer readers the convenience of placing "advance orders" on upcoming releases. These are items that LFB has already bought but which are still being printed or have not yet been released by the publisher. When an "advance order" is placed in the same order with books already available, it is considered a separate order (for determining shipping charges). To avoid the extra shipping charge, you may choose to hold the entire order until the "advance" item is released. To do so, simply submit a Ship-Together Request to have your order ship together. Otherwise the available part of the order will ship within 24 hours, as usual.

On Standard Shipping (Book Rate: USPS), average shipping time is 7 working days. We will reship your order if it is not received in 21 working days. Expedited Ground shipments are trackable, and your tracking numbers will be emailed to customers with email addresses on file when your package ships.

EXPEDITED GROUND IS NOT AVAILABLE TO POST OFFICE BOXES, and NOT AVAILABLE TO HAWAII OR ALASKA. Best option for fast delivery to a post office box or to Hawaii or Alaska is Priority Mail.

Overnight orders from the website WILL BE SHIPPED THE DAY FOLLOWING PROCESSING (and orders placed after 5pm Central Time may not process until the following day), so you should expect delivery in 2-3 business days from the day you placed your order. If you want your order to ship same-day, you must place your order by phone or by email (before 3pm Central time). Next Day Air is NOT available to post office boxes.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to circumstances beyond our control, we can no longer ship international packages by untrackable means. All International Express shipments are fully guaranteed and can be expected to arrive in approximately 2-5 business days (add one business day for order processing). Airmail to Canada is also guaranteed, with an estimated delivery time of 5-14 days. Shipments not delivered within 21 business days will be reshipped.
