Dudley

Dudley is where Abraham Darby, pioneer of the Industrial Revolution, was born in 1678. The mineral wealth of the area including coal, iron ore, limestone, and fireclay helped put Dudley on the map during the Industrial Revolution.

It was also here that Titanic’s anchor was cast at Somers of Halesowen and the chain at Hingleys of Netherton, while the ship’s crystal glass was manufactured at Stuart Crystal.

Presently as part of Black Country Chamber - Dudley Chamber is actively lobbying government on behalf of businesses on many issues such as liability insurance, and employment law.

To tackle local business crime, we are also working in partnership with Local Authorities and the police. We are actively involved in local crime initiatives, including the Dudley Business Retail Crime Partnership.
