Proverb

According to the Cambridge International Dictionary of English a proverb is a short sentence, etc., usually known by many people, stating something commonly experienced or giving advice. Ex: The appetite, says the proverb, grows with eating.

Love is blind. O amor é cego.
No use crying over spilt milk. Não adianta chorar sobre o leite derramado.
Don't  look a gift horse in the mouth. A cavalo dado não se olha o dente.
A cat can look at a king. Ver não tira pedaço.
The rich get richer, the poor get poorer./Nothing succeeds like success. Dinheiro chama dinheiro.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Quem não arrisca não petisca.
Choose the lesser of two evils. Dos males o menor.
Out of sight, out of mind. O que os olhos não vêem, o caração não sente.
