Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE)
The Oldham College has achieved CoVE status in 4 key areas:
Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) is a quality set by the Learning and Skills Council which is only awarded to colleges that meet specific criteria. It is a national award that is renewed on a yearly basis via an audit from the local Skills Council. Designed to give individuals and businesses from all areas of the community access to high quality, vocational training that they need to succeed in a modern economy, and to spread good practice to other providers.
CoVE’s are to focus their attention on:
- Enhancing the skills and careers of people already in work.
- Enhance the employability of people entering the labour market.
- Enhance the employment prospects of those seeking work, (including self-employment).
- Develop, maintain and deliver high quality, specialist provision within a range of new and traditional occupations.
- Develop innovative methods of delivering training / teaching that develops both specialist and related general skills.
- Work closely with industry to deliver industry- relevant, economically important provision to a high standard.
