In an interview with CVG, Battlefield 2142 Senior producer Marcus Nilsson had some choice words for those who look to voice concerns about a game they paid good money for:
“… there is a very vocal minority on the forums who say ‘EA is crap’ and ‘DICE are lazy’, but they’re all probably playing the game every day already anyway. We have minor problems, sometimes we have big problems, but minor problems are not what people should write about. Maybe they should write about why they’re playing Battlefield every day. But that’s human nature, I guess — you have a vocal minority and a silent majority.”
There you have it. If you have a problem with a game you paid for and expected to work accordingly, then take your compaints elsewhere because DICE doesn’t want to hear your whining. Wonderful message to fans DICE, wonderful.

Hey, at least they’re honest by not giving you the finger. Which is true btw, BF2 (with DICE/EA) has probably the worst community ever.

BF2 still has more than MINOR issues; issues which made me go from playing everyday, down to playing NEVER AGAIN, after just 1 month. I must be the ultra-omega-minority, consisting of myself, and JimBob down in Texas.

You and JimBob are, Mozgus.
And EA wants you to STFU, and GTFO.

Consider me Got The Fuck Out then.

The man has a point. No one says anything when things go right. I like BF2. Despite being told I’m a magoon by DICE cause I want less this and more that.

Wait… you mean companies shouldn’t be annoyed by the fact that numbnuts gamers with nothing better to do decide it’s high time to post about how much of a paperweight Battlefield 2 is because they’re too retarded to aim and shoot?
France must be wonderful.

Yes, Angry Steve. The difficulty of aiming and shooting is what ruins the game, just like it ruined other games such as Half Life 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004. The mile long list of BF2 bugs are just blessings in disguise. They make the game so awesome.

I think dice screwed the pooch first of all when they started releasing expansion packs that in no way integrated into the original game except by making you own it. And this was still when there were rampant bugs and design flaws in the engine. And then they expect us to believe that while they were dilligently fixing all the bugs in the original and releasing all these “expansions” they were also hard at work with BF2142 and making it good to go right out of the box? I highly, highly doubt BF2142 will be playable for at least a year, which is why I was on the fence as to whether or not I should shell out for this game, because all-in-all, I did enjoy the CONCEPT of BF2 and the game it eventually became….But..with a comment like this, and the seeming snobbery of it, I think I’ll pass on anymore DICE games until they redeem themselves to the community.

People have been whining about just about everything in BF2 for a loooong time. But that’s mostly because just about everything has been fucked up at some point. EA and DICE, in return, have ignored everyone completely, instead choosing to advertise the hell out of whatever crap they’re releasing next.
Dice - Releases bugged, incomplete game.
Community - “omfg fix this”
Dice - “Hmm.. well, we COULD…. nah”
Dice - Pokes BF2 with a stick, hoping someone will think they’re helping
Dice - Releases bugged, incomplete expansion(s)
And people just keep on buying their crap. *sigh*

I went from playing every day to only playing once POE was released after 1.3 hosed the game for me and Dice/EA sat on their hands for a few months instead of rolling out a fix. Fuck that i have better places to spend my gaming budget.

I bought the game and played it originally. I liked the concept and thought it had a lot of potential. I stopped a looong time ago with frustrations over the interface and the stability of that game. I went back to CSS and have had more fun. I never bought an expansion pack for BF2 and I’ll definitely wait for a bit before deciding if BF2142 is going to be worth it. Again, I like the concept but I’m not going to pay $50 to be part of their beta. Nothing’s perfect but a company of this size should be able to put out a game that is relatively bug free (on their 3rd installment of a series / or 7th version of the same game…depending on how you look at it).
