• A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 51 percent of Democrats expressed the highest level of interest possible in the upcoming elections, compared to only 43 percent of Republicans.
• Support for Republicans among white evangelical Christians is declining, according to a Pew Research Center poll reported in the Washington Post. The survey found that 57 percent of white evangelicals plan on voting for a Republican this fall, a 21-point drop from 2004.
