Creating your bulk upload
We accept bulk uploads in five formats, including tab-delimited and four XML formats: RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0, Atom 1.0, and Atom 0.3. If you're uncertain about which format you should use, please see our bulk upload format page.
We've provided sample files to illustrate how your bulk upload file should be formatted. You can download a sample in any of these formats, and use it as a template for your own bulk upload file. For tab-delimited, the sample is available as both a text file (.txt) and a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (.xls).
Whichever format you choose, you'll need to provide information about your reviews in the form of attributes. Organizing your content into attributes will enable people to search for it on Google Base. We've listed the required attributes below.
Once you've created a file with the set of attributes which best describe your reviews, you can register your bulk upload.
Attributes
Required attributes
You are required to include these attributes for all of the items in your bulk upload file. If you do not have information available for an attribute, you may leave it out, but keep in mind that including as many attributes as possible will increase your items' exposure in search results.
Additional attributes
You're also welcome to include any other information you have available. Our full list of attributes may contain other attributes relevant to your reviews. If you have additional information that does not fit our pre-defined attributes, you can also use custom attributes. Learn more about creating custom attributes here.
AdWords advertising attributes (optional)
By including specific advertising attributes in your bulk upload file, you can create Google AdWords ads to help increase traffic to your Google Base items. Google AdWords is an advertising program that allows you to run highly targeted cost-per-click (CPC) regardless of your budget.
With Google AdWords, you only pay when someone clicks on your ad, and you have complete control of how much you are willing to spend per day and per click. Ads for your Google Base items will be displayed along with search results on Google, as well as on sites in the Google Search Network. Learn more about Google AdWords.
The AdWords attributes for your bulk upload files are defined here. In addition to using these, you must already have an AdWords account connected to the Google Account you're using on Google Base, and your bulk upload file must be in the tab-delimited format. Learn more about using the advertising attributes.
