The tributes to Love founder Arthur Lee, who died last week of luekemia at 61, continue to pour in from around the world.

Lee lived in Laurel Canyon, as did former Doors drummer John Densmore, who penned this very nice tribute to his former neighbor and Doors mentor.

Lee’s name and legacy came up several times in my talk at the Egyptian Theater Saturday. Someone in the audience pointed out that Lee had name-checked the canyon in Love’s “You I’ll Be Following,” his meditation on the joys of tracking down one’s connection:

I went to Laurel
Tripped in the canyon
My head is still bent, but now
You I’ll be following….
