Merry Hill is one of the nation's most successful shopping centres offering a wealth of high quality stores, services and facilities. Merry Hill covers over 125,000 m² with 243 stores undercover, including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, BHS, H&M, Next, TKMaxx, Sainsbury’s and ASDA. In addition, there is an external retail park and over 8,000 adjacent parking spaces. The Waterfront provides office accommodation to major businesses such as Egg, Inland Revenue and Barclays. Its marina is home to restaurants and bars providing a vibrant social venue within the Dudley Borough.
The Merry Hill master plan has been developed and refined since 1998 in partnership with Dudley MBC. The conceptual retail planning is based on the linkage of Merry Hill, the Waterfront and Brierley Hill High Street to create a new urban centre. Significant office, leisure and public floorspace and new dwellings are to be created. The master plan allows for introduction of Midland Metro light rail system and enhanced strategic and local road network. The 91 hectare site which also includes leisure and office facilities, allows for significant expansion opportunity to extend its position in the western sector of Birmingham.
