human sexuality and basic counselling and are certified to

What differentiates Justisse-Healthworks from other
organizations that provide fertility awareness training?
Justisse-Healthworks operates solely within
a secular context and does not adhere to any religious directives
concerning sexual and reproductive health and rights. We support
the tenets of feminism, non-violent communication, and reproductive

Cervical mucus secretions can be charted alone or in combination
with basal body temperature, cervical changes, and/or other
secondary fertility signs.

About Geraldine Matus, Founder of Justisse-Healthworks
Since 1978, Geraldine Matus has worked as a holistic reproductive
health care practitioner. In 1987, she and Elaine Matus developed
the Justisse Method. At the same time they developed the Justisse Method for Fertility Management Practitioner (FMP) Training Program. In 2004 Ms. Matus extensively redesigned this program to become the
Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner (HRHP) Training
Ms. Matus has trained in the Billings Ovulation, Serena,
and Creighton Methods of Natural Family Planning (NFP). This
training informed the development of the secular based Justisse
Method that brings together her extensive knowledge of fertility
awareness, natural birth control, contraceptive use and sexual
and reproductive health and choice. She has also trained volunteers for and
worked with Planned Parenthood Edmonton.
Ms. Matus trained and practiced as a midwife from 1982 to
1986, and was involved in the "home birth" and "reproductive
freedom" movements during the 70’s and 80’s.
She completed her BA at Athabasca University, Canada, and
MA Counselling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute,
Ms. Matus integrates her knowledge of reproductive health
with her training in Counseling Psychology and special interest in Archetypal and Imaginal Psychology to help women honour both their reproductive
bodies and selves and their individual reproductive choices.
