News Corp's Murdoch - American death toll in Iraq "minute"

Reported by Chrish - November 7, 2006 -

Australian-born Rupert Murdoch, owner of News Corporation which in turn owns FOX News Channel (among many other media holdings), told reporters at a conference in Tokyo that the American death toll in Iraq "by the terms of any previous war are quite minute," and he has no regrets about backing the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

According to a report in India Times, Murdoch believes that the invasion was well-intentioned but poorly executed, but like his compadres in the Bush administration he says "we" were right to go in there, all evidence to the contrary.

As of now, Iraq Coalition Casualty Count reports 2,836 Americans KIA and over 45,000 non-mortal wounded.

This is indicative of the yawning gap between the callous corporate masters of the universe and the real people watching his fake news that led the cheerleading into this unnecessary war. We often wonder why people are so rabidly loyal to a corporation. Murdoch is so used to assessing a program's worth by how big their ratings are he's forgotten that there are real people in those numbers.
