The Bands

The Fratellis The Fratellis
Hailing from Glasgow, the Fratellis apparently bonded over a love of peculiar fruitstuffs. Given that their first gig took place on March 4th 2005, The Fratellis have had an astounding start to their career, with their debut album 'Costello Music' achieving widespread acclaim and flogging like the proverbial - even if the album cover art, depicting three buxom ladies in fifties garments, did have our Features ed. confused that he'd met the "ladies from Fratellis" when he got chatted up by some lovelies at the Reading Festival.

The View The View
Following their appearance on the Levi's Ones To Watch Tour, Scottish lads The View will be supporting Primal Scream on Bobby Gillespie & co's forthcoming winter tour, while Oasis knob-twiddling legend Owen Morris is behind the desk for the band's debut album. Both of these salient facts should tell you that The View tap right into that thread of British classicism, melody, and a natty ear for both tune and wry lyric, which is clearly going down a storm - their inevitable hit 'Wasted Little DJs' has had a staggering quarter-of-a-million plays on MySpace, making their appearance on the Levi's® OnesToWatch® tour a hot ticket indeed.

Mystery Jets Mystery Jets
One of the finest new bands we've come across in recent years, The Mystery Jets still continue to wow audiences with their ability to rise about the jangly indie mire through inventive songcraft that blends a deep love of the sounds of prog with an attitude and outlook that's fresher than a daisy on the banks of their Eel Pie Island. Their debut album 'Making Dens' is sure to figure high on many an end-of-year poll, while the band's reputation as one of the finest on the circuit - a mass of white hair, dreaded hair, Brideshead hair and flying pots and pans, means their stop on the Levi's Ones To Watch Tour will undoubtedly be a highlight.

Forward Russia Forward Russia
From their early days on brilliant London-based independent label White Heat records, punctuation bothering Leeds boys and girl Forward Russia have worked diligently to win over both lovers of high-tension, crafted noise and NME-reading pop kids alike. Live, they've acquired a reputation like no other for their intense performances - "Revolutionary and then some," said PlayLouder when they played the 'umble Dublin Castle back in 2005, while the Sainted Swells said "well done" for kicking Kaiser Chiefs' scaly comedy-rock ass to a bloody pulp." Their magnificent debut album 'Give Me A Wall' we deemed a four-and-a-half exploding head thing, and said "there isn't a wall that could hold them right now." The ceilings of Manchester quail in anticipations.

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly
Providing respite after the taught thunder of Forward Russia will be Manchester's joint headliners Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Following an A&R; scrum, Sam Duckworth (for the caped crusader is he) revealed himself to be more than a man with an interesting moniker with his debut album 'Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager', a collection of at times fragile, but intelligent songs of bucolic lilt and timbre that belie his young age.

Humanzi Humanzi
The best thing to come out of Ireland since that new tall pole in Dublin city centre, Humanzi bridge the gap between excited and tense new wave and the rock & roll histrionics of Janes Addiction - indeed, Humanzi's Shaun Mulrooney's vocals often resemble those of Janes' main man Perry Farrell.. At heart a political band as much as they're able to dispense grandiose, histrionic rock, Humanzi played a legendary Dublin gig which saw Mulrooney berating Irish leader Bertie Ahern for his chummy relationship with US President George Bush, while they follow their Levi's® OnesToWatch® show by supporting American legends The MC5. Humanzi will be joined in Dublin by the aforementioned Channel One and melodic Belfast chaps Rivals.
