Les Amitiés Musicales Association said that 303 candidates, representing 23 countries, contesting for 40 prizes, participated in the competition which addresses young pianists between 5 and 35 years old, having an initiation level of virtuosity.
The HRH Princess Lalla Meryem First Prize of virtuosity went to the Japanese pianist Hiroko Tani. The second prize was handed to Ryoko Moriguchi and the 3rd to Tomohiro Hatta, both candidates from Japan.
The Excellency Prize was attributed to the Moroccan Dina Bensaid and the Premium Prize to her compatriot Mohammed Amine Aydoun.

The closing concert, which took place in Mohammed V Theatre, Rabat, was performed by the best laureates of the contest. The event was also marked by the awarding of scholarships to the winners.
