It has actually been a few months since I've worked on my game, or php in general since I had a full time job during the summer and then I've just been busy with school, so I'm a little rusty with some of my GD and syntax and such.. I'll see if I can sort through it all by myself and then if I stil have any problems, I'll PM you
True, at least knowing what you have to work with language-wise eliminates that part of the hard work involved in game making.
true but it should get them started well enough
After that, if they have any specific questions they can ask those here
That won't teach you gameprogramming, just as knowing any other language doesn't
just direct them to [LINK]
there's plenty of very good tutorials there, as well as the compleet manual
Hey Vixen, maybe you could type up a few tutorials on PHP, I think it was you who made the other versions before.
Xangelo, Javaguy if you could send me a PM about those questions, that would be better then having a very long discussion about such things in here.
I used too.
Does anyone here work with php much?
I believe that in Eclipse you go to Export -> General -> Archive File

Dear members and visitors,A week has passed since OGD arose again. We have done a fair bit of tweaking and tuning and think that OGD has made a good second start. There's only one thing that I would like to ask your help for... A community site like this is mostly used for two purposes: first, to exchange ideas and suggestions, to comment on each others work, to help each other and to find similar minds in the world of game development. Second is to learn. People wanting to expand their knowledge or even starting from the very beginning. The sharing, exchanging, suggesting, commenting, and communicating part we brought to you on a silver plate. What we can't bring you all by ourselves is information. We need you to bring the information here so that others can learn from it. So this is it, dear members, a call to arms! Support your OGD community! What we need most at this time are new and unique tutorials and articles. Do you have anything gamedev related that you would call yourself good at? Share the knowledge and write a tutorial on it, or record it, create a WMV/Flash video of it, etc. We'd be glad to give you a hand! Have an interesting view on things? A solution to a problem that nobody has thought of before? Think it through, thoroughly (everyone benefits from good quality work, it's bad to waste time on useless and short sighted work..) and write an article about it. We're all pretty smart people here, so enlighten us even more by creating your ideas into a realisation of human intellectuality. As mentioned before, we will help you, but we can't do this without you! Thank you! We're Back!!Vixen on Sunday 19 November 2006 - 07:23:13 | Read/Post Comment: 1
_____________________________________________________Welcome to the new onGameDev website! As you might have noticed the last few weeks, we've had some technical difficulties concerning the revamp. But it's here, the new (and hopefully improved!) onGameDev website. We're still working on the settings to get everything on the road but we're getting there. We've decided to do a few things different this time. The focus will shift more to our members and their projects and progress. From experience we know that people are more motivated in their projects when they get comments and suggestions on their work. Another thing is literature. More and better articles and tutorials to get you going in that new framework, introduce you to a fancy 3d modeling program, give you a lecture on game design, etc. Ofcourse we need your help for this so if you're an expert in any game development related field and feel like helping out, be sure to give us a shout! Ofcourse we will bring you the best of the 'old' OGD as well. Good ol' forums are still the main part of this community portal. The place for you too meet similar minds and get your heads together to create the next big game hit! Also the spot for discussion, babbling, project show off, etc. Be sure to check them out! Be sure to put us in your bookmarks: http://www.ongamedev.com _____________________________________________________ |
