City of Sunderland College currently employs over 900 staff and over one academic year has upward of 14,000 students :

  • 3,500 full-time
  • 10,000 part-time

We have 5 main college centres located throughout the City:

  • Bede
  • Shiney Row
  • Hylton
  • Doxford International
  • Phoenix House

As well as courses running at many venues throughout the local community.

Exam Results for Full-Time Students

The College is celebrating its best ever achievements making it one of the most successful colleges in the country.

A Level Results:

  • 612 subject entries produced a 96% pass rate
  • 11 of the subjects produced a 100% pass rate
  • Average of 292 UCAS points per student - almost equivalent to 3 B's
  • 271 UCAS points per male student
  • 307 UCAS points per female student 
  • 170 students gained the equivalent of 4 or more A Levels

Vocational A Level Results:

  • 96% pass rate, 7% above the national average
  • 203 UCAS points per student, the equivalent of 2 Grade B's, and a 34% rise from the previous year 
  • 195 UCAS points per male student
  • 213 UCAS  points per female student

  • Success rates well above average for all learners at all levels
  • Good and improving quality of teaching and learning
  • Outstanding range of programmes to meet the needs of learners
  • Well developed and popular enrichment programmes
  • Very good collaborative work with 11-16 schools, employers, the community and the local authority
  • Clear and effective strategic direction at senior management level
