Matinée de Septembre - September Morn, completed by Paul Chabas on a September morn in 1912. It depicts a lovely young lady rising from an early morning dip in the lake. It captures the beauty of sunrise as well as the appeal of a shy, modest woman. On another September morn in 1951, the soul that was soon to arrive on Earth must have felt as vulnerable as the young woman appears here. On another September morn in 2001, 50 years later, the world was to feel as vulnerable. Schoolroom Earth is not for the faint-hearted. It is the (temporary) home of the brave.

Whoever and wherever you are, around the world and across the Universe, know that you are warmly welcomed.

I invite you to browse, linger, catch glimpses of a life that is perfectly imperfect with its highs and lows, joys and woes, beauty and ugliness, good and bad, mundaneness and sacred and points betwixt and between.

Perhaps, herein, there's a smile, groan, lesson, or a shared experience for you. ~AU

"Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

~George Bernard Shaw

Let Your Light Shine

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's in everyone, and, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

~ M. Williamson

The future is a mystery.

Today is a gift.
