• The LaSalle-Peru Township High School District 120 is located in the North West corner of LaSalle County at the intersection of Interstates 80 and 39. District 120 is located approximately 70 miles SE of Rockford and 60 miles NE of Peoria. It encompasses a 184 square mile bound, and serves the residents of LaSalle, Peru, Utica, Oglesby, Tonica, Lostant, Cedar Point and Leonore.

  • LaSalle-Peru Township High School was erected in 1897-98, occupying buildings on 5th, 6th and Chartres Streets in LaSalle.

  • The Thomas J. MccCormack Library was established in 1920.

  • LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College was formed at the school in 1924.  L-P-O Junior College led way to Illinois Valley Community College in 1968, expanding to its own site in Oglesby, Illinois.

  • The school's landmark clock tower was built in 1927 and is still in use today.

  • Beautiful Matthiessen Memorial Auditorium was opened in 1928.

  • Historic Howard Fellows Stadium, current home of the L-P Cavaliers, was opened in 1937.  Howard Fellows Stadium underwent massive renovation in the summer of 1995 to restore it to its original glory. 

  • There have been many additions throughout the years at L-P High School, including the West Gymnasium, Area Career Center and Dolan Building.
