Silva Screen's release of Murray Gold's incredible music for Doctor Who is now sitting proudly atop the iTunes soundtrack chart and has also gained a major placing in their main pop album chart at number 24, above such acts as Scissor Sisters, Lily Allen and the Foo Fighters.

Just like Christmas in the 1960s, December 25th is becoming a landmark day for the series. Doctor Who appears on the cover of the new Christmas Radio Times and BBC1 on Christmas Day will provide a feast of entertainment for all fans of the legendary time traveller. At 1:00PM there's a very special episode of Doctor Who Confidential subtitled Music And Monsters. This will feature a recording of Murray's triumphant sell-out concert in Cardiff last month in aid of Children In Need. There will then be time to eat Christmas lunch, have a snooze and be in position in your favourite armchair to enjoy the latest adventure at 7:00PM - The Runaway Bride featuring the on-screen premiere of the song Love Don't Roam.



Silva Screen will release Thomas Newman's score for Little Children on December 11th. The film, starring Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson, has won plaudits from both sides of the Atlantic for its revealing look at the dark side of American suburbia. Rolling Stone said, "The film pulls you in like a magnetic force" whilst Empire called it, "complex, thought-provoking cinema". Newman's music brilliantly captures the atmosphere of this look at the dark side of life and joins his benchmark catalogue of scores that include American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Road To Perdition and Meet Joe Black.  


08-11-06 BORAT MANIA

World Connection / Times Square artist, ESMA's song "Chaje Shukarije" is featured in the film and soundtrack of the current box office No.1 film, "BORAT". ESMA's unique vocal style can be heard on "Queen of the Gypsies" (TSQ 9028) and "Chaje Shukarije" (TSQ 9020). Times Square is a Silva Screen label.


Mychael Danna's stunning new score for The Nativity Story is released by Silva Screen on December 4th. Following in the footsteps of The Passion Of The Christ, this new biblical epic is a family-friendly retelling of the Christmas story and will hit cinemas on December 1st. Danna has been at the forefront of scoring films for 20 years and is a pioneer of combining non-Western sound sources with orchestral and electronic minimalism. Recent successes include Capote, Vanity Fair and Monsoon Wedding


01-11-06 DOCTOR WHO

Silva Screen will release Murray Gold's music from the hit BBC TV series Doctor Who on December 4th. This album includes the 'must have' new version of Ron Grainer's immortal theme. Also included are songs written by Murray and performed by Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy). "Song for 10" which appeared in last year's Christmas Special and a new offering, "Love Don't Roam", which will feature in this year's Yuletide special "The Runaway Bride".



Silva Screen will release the soundtrack to Martin Scorsese's box-office chart topper The Departed on November 13th. The score by Howard Shore continues the partnership between one of the most acclaimed composers in Hollywood and a director who is regarded by critics as America's most distinguished film-maker. Following on from their collaboration on Gangs Of New York and The Avaitor, Rolling Stone said, "This is vital, visceral filmaking, indebted to Howard Shore's evocative score".



Two films which will have soundtracks released by Silva Screen in September will be showing at The Venice Film Festival which runs from August 30th to September 9th. The Black Dahlia, directed by Brian De Palma with a score by Mark Isham will appear in competition, whilst The Wicker Man, directed by Neil LaBute with a score by Angelo Badalamenti will appear out of competion.

Silva Screen is set to release this June the soundtrack to the new film from legendary US director Robert Altman. A Prairie Home Companion is the big screen version of the live radio show created by Garrison Keillor which plays on public radio stations across the United States. A collection of monologues, skits, music and fictional commercials, the soundtrack features songs from the dazzling array of stars who feature in the film. These include Meryl Streep, Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly and Lily Tomlin.  As Robert Altman remarks, “The music in this film is its breath. It never stops and it keeps the film alive”



Silva Screen’s new release Music From The Harry Potter Films (available now) has been selected as Classic FM’s CD Of The Week. From April 10th until April 17th every weekday at 10:10 AM, Simon Bates will be highlighting a track from this magical new album. Featuring music from all four Harry Potter films, this collection is set to be the soundtrack compilation of the year. As Simon says, “The swirling, sweeping strings make me want to jump on my broomstick! It’s wizard!”


Silva Screen Records will be attending MIDEM - the annual music trade fair in Cannes between 21st to 26th January. Reynold D’Silva (Managing Director), Keith Ferreira (Director – Finance / Operations), David Stoner (Commercial Director), Pete Compton (International Manager) will be present to meet Silva Screen’s international distributors and licensees. Apart from presenting its release schedule for 2006, the company will focus on expanding its digital and mobile entertainment business.
