  • Troy Matteson shot a second consecutive 3-under 70 and at -6 has quietly climbed the Mercedes leaderboard into sixth place. Matteson appears to have found the same form that led to five top-10's in his last five events of 2006, including a win in Las Vegas at the Frys.com Open. (Jan. 07, - 7:10 AM EST)

  • Will MacKenzie's even-par 73 in the third round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship leaves him tied for fourth place, three strokes behind leader Vijay Singh. MacKenzie's round was reminiscent of his kayaking past, an up-and-down ride. He used five birdies to offset five bogeys and remained in contention going into Sunday's final round. Crowds are flocking to him, the press has made him their media darling, and the only thing left is for fantasy players to jump on the bandwagon. (Jan. 07, - 6:43 AM EST)
