YJ-82K (C-802K) AIR-LAUNCHED ANTI-SHIP MISSILE

China Haiying Electro-Mechanical Technology Academy (3rd Space Academy) developed an upgraded variant of its YJ-8 anti-ship missile in the 1990s. The missile, known as YJ-82 (or C-802 in its export name), features a turbojet engine which increases the missile’s maximum range to 120km. The air-launched version designated YJ-82K was introduced in the late 1990s. Unconfirmed reports suggested that a small number of the YJ-82K was exported to Iran to be carried by its F-4 Phantom fighters. CHETA may have also developed a land-attack cruise missile based on the YJ-82K design. This new missile is possibly designated YJ-85.
