Features and Documentary Specialist, "CityNews"
Born in Ghana, West Africa, JoJo is a member of the Royal Family of the Fante tribe. He came to Canada in 1969, and was the editor of several publications including The Islander, UAW newspaper Solidarity, Toronto's first black newspaper Contrast, and was the publisher of Black Images. JoJo joined Citytv in 1978 and worked as a news reporter for 11 years before taking a seven month sabbatical in 1989 to train and trot his racehorse "Jazzie Dol."
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Four years service as a director of the Toronto Bail Program. Produced an educational video on the program which is used province-wide.
AWARDS:
CanPro Award and Gemini nomination in 1985 for "Down And Out In Parkdale" and the 1984 Sovereign Award from the Canadian Racing Community for his "Quest For The Plate" series.
