Ousted PM Laisenia Qarase
The video footage released by the Fiji Military Force featuring the SDL's former Party Strategic Chairman Navitalai Naisoro and alleged international conman Peter Foster could have been staged.

Those are the words of ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase after receiving a copy of the transcript of the video earlier today.

Speaking from Mavana this afternoon, Qarase alleged that the time the interview took place raises questions on its validity as it was done after the coup and could be a way for the military to gain support for its actions.

Qarase adds that the military should have forwarded the matter to police to investigate instead of distributing it to the media.

In the video footage released by the RFMF, former Party Strategic Chairman Navitalai Naisoro was secretly recorded with the assistance of alleged international conman Peter Foster on the 27th of last month.

Peter Foster
Naisoro alleged in the video that SDL President Ratu Kalokalo Loki said in a meeting that the party needs to make some changes and said and we quote "No More Mister Nice Guy" end of quote.

Naisoro in his conversation with Foster also said that no one from the SDL would ever reveal any information about the alleged vote rigging. He said and we quote "My thinking is that the SDL guys are not that weak, those who are capable of doing that will not talk", end of quote.

The video footage is only conversations held between Naisoro and alleged international conman Peter Foster dated 17th of last month and there has been no actual evidence of vote rigging provided by the RFMF as yet.

Other conversations that Foster had with Naisoro and former SDL Campaign Director Jale Baba are currently being verified before they can be made public.

Village News is still attempting to speak with Naisoro after the release of the video.
