Our Teams

Regulation & Inspection

Tenant assessors during an inspection process Regulation & Inspection regulates all of Scotland’s social housing. We help ensure that landlords deliver good housing and related services for the benefit of current tenants and other consumers. Our aim is to promote quality, continuous improvement, and good practice.

We implement a single regulatory framework, a role which is unique in the UK. This role brings the regulation and inspection of all registered social landlords (RSLs), and the homelessness and factoring functions of local authority landlords, within one regulatory body.

The framework was developed in close consultation with all stakeholder groups, and we are committed to working with our stakeholders to develop, implement and review our regulatory framework through Participation Structures.

Our work is governed by an independent Regulation Board.
