Originally named Brendan Byrne Arena after the former Governor of New Jersey; also referred to as Meadowlands Arena.

MEADOWLANDS SPORTS COMPLEX
Continental Airlines Arena, along with Giants Stadium and the Meadowlands Racetrack, make up the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Complex was constructed on a 750-acre site at a cost of $450 million and is considered one of the greatest sports and entertainment complexes in the world.

OPENING DAY: July 2, 1981 -- Bruce Springsteen opened the arena with the first of six sold-out concerts.
