China: President to make third visit to Africa Tue. January 16, 2007 02:22 pm.

(SomaliNet) The Chinese government announced on Tuesday that President Hu Jintao will soon make his third trip to Africa, being his third to time to come to the continent since taking office in 2003.
"President Hu Jintao plans to visit African countries in the near future," foreign ministry spokesperson Liu Jianchao told a regular media briefing.
"We are discussing and negotiating the arrangements with the relevant countries. Once we reach agreement, we will release the information." No further details were given.
Hu visited three African countries in 2004 and another three in April last year.
Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing also just completed a seven-country swing through mostly smaller African countries from December 31 to January 8.
President Hu visited Egypt, Gabon and Algeria in 2004, and Morocco, Kenya and Nigeria last year. - Sapa-AFP
