2006 budget deficit at 8-year low: P62.2B

MANILA, Philippines -- The national government’s budget deficit in 2006 settled at an eight-year low of P62.2 billion -- less than half the target limit of P125 billion -- with tight spending and increased revenue collection, the Department of Finance said Thursday.
