Phoenix Coyotes Chairman and Governor Steve Ellman announced today that Wayne Gretzky has agreed to a new multi-year contract to serve as head coach of the Phoenix Coyotes, in addition to continuing his role as managing partner of hockey operations. Wayne Gretzky Foundation Golf Classic II Raises Over $125,000 4/29/2005 - The Wayne Gretzky Foundation Golf Classic took place in April at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA. The second Classic was even more successful than the first, raising over $125,000. The money will be used to help young people in Canada and the United States experience the sport of hockey. NHL raises $72,000 for tsunami relief with online auction The NHL raised $72,000 to benefit the victims of the tsunami in the Indian Ocean through an online auction of hockey memorabilia and other unique items. The auction was held on the league's Web site from Jan. 20-27 and brought in $36,000.
