Several months ago the gates to the Blood Crypt opened and daring adventurers recovered The Heretical Path from the grasp of the vampire Brother Salasso. As a new moon rises over the hills of the Necropolis, Brother Nerezza, the second of the prophets, pens the final verses of The Twisted Apocrypha. The gates to the Shadow Crypt are preparing to open.
In addition to the Black Prophets, the Abbot has a council of four wise and intelligent mortals, chosen from each of the castes of society. These men advise the Abbot on how he may best infiltrate society and increase the scope and power of his cult. As part of their agreement to help him, the Abbot agreed to grant them eternal life by making them an unholy combination of wraiths and shadows. For centuries the Shadow Council has plotted, conspired and carried out plans to increase the size and power of the Abbots humanoid cult. They are very clever, intelligent beings, who prefer mind games and subterfuge over straight out hack and slash combat.
With the arrival of the Silver Flame and Emerald Claw, and the loss of the Heretical Path, the Shadow Council has been very busy and active. Their intelligence network has discovered that Dame Calla Swiftmare is more powerful than even the lich realized. Research has uncovered that she may be able to restore the members of the Shadow Council to their former mortal selves. After centuries of servitude, they are now prepared to take that chance.

Warforged are properly classified as Living Constructs they possess free will and sentience, while combining aspects of both constructs and living creatures. In Khorvaire, they were perfected in 965 YK by House Cannith to fight in the Last War, and were based on earlier models that lacked true living construct qualities. These earlier models were often quite large, and included the massive titans.
Rumor has it that adventurers have found an ancient creation forge here in Xendrik, protected by warforged guardians thousands of years old. A priceless find if the rumor is true, but a terribly dangerous weapon should it fall into the wrong hands.
I cannot help but admit my skepticism at the idea of warforged hidden away and surviving for tens of thousands of years. I will believe these stories only once I see this forge with my own eyes, or witness a party dragging back the salvage.
First off, it would be worthwhile to explain what the Topic of the Week is. Every other week, we will be starting a new discussion. The discussion will be contained on the thread and will remain on topic. We will post the best response on the DDOVault website and the poster will receive one week VIP status OR a title of their choice. This title never goes away. The "contest" is officially over one week from posting, but the discussion can continue. Feel free to have friendly arguments with the other posters. Discussion and debate is good and encouraged, but do not let it get out of hand. Feel free to explore the subject!
Please note that rewards are subject to a good board history. Your title may be denied if you have a recent bad history. Thank You for understanding.

Festival is a new holiday commissioned by the Coin Lords of Stormreach. Since ancient times, the folk of Eberron have observed Long Shadows during these chill weeks -- a grim season when the power of the Shadow, god of the Dark Six, is at its strongest. Dire magic gathers in dusky corners, and evil stalks the night in a thousand guises. The Coin Lords have determined that the terror of Long Shadows must end! To this end, they devised Festival, a celebration to drive evil out of the city. Instead of cowering from the Shadow, citizens are encouraged to exchange gifts with their adventuring partners and loved ones. And by slaying the monsters who threaten the city's well-being, they may collect Festival Coins to demonstrate their dauntless spirit in the face of Long Shadows and the Dark Six!
If you are bold enough to collect any Festival Coins, look for the Jester of Festival, a disguised "friend of the Coin Lords." Nobody knows the true name of this fellow, but he can easily be identified by his colorful garb and dwarven stature. He will exchange Festival Coins for gifts from House Ghallanda and House Cannith, crafted especially for the season. These treasures can be found nowhere else, so do not miss your chance to acquire them!
From the Coin Lords, the dragonmarked Houses and all of Stormreach, we wish you a Happy Festival and a profitable new year!
