Bureau of Archives and History
The Bureau of Archives and History is responsible for the collection, care, preservation, interpretation, promotion, and publication of the documentary history of Pennsylvania.
It administers a wide range of public history, archival, and records management programs. The bureau provides services and publications for the general public, for the scholarly community, and in support of other Commission activities, as well as in support of regional, county, and local historical organizations.
Activities of the bureau are carried out by three operating divisions: Division of Archives and Manuscripts (Pennsylvania State Archives); Records Management; and Division of Publications and Sales.
