Vincent Lecavalier

Vincent Lecavalier scored a tiebreaking power-play goal with 8:07 left in the third period to help the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the New York Rangers 3-2 on Saturday night. Lecavalier's goal from the top of the right circle came after the Rangers were penalized for having too many men on the ice. Rangers captain Jaromir Jagr argued with officials to no avail after the penalty was called.

Holmqvist and Lightning blank Hurricanes

Johan Holmqvist made 31 saves in his first NHL shutout, and the Tampa Bay Lightning extended their franchise-record, road-winning streak to seven by beating the Carolina Hurricanes 4-0 on Thursday night.

Lightning, Thrashers make four-player swap

The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired wingers Kyle Wanvig and Stephen Baby from the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday in exchange for defenceman Andy Delmore and winger Andre Deveaux.

Hall and two friends - Mason Ward and Gord Cameron - scored a combined 21 goals, 6 more than the required 15, into an open net, each winning a Chevy Silverado. Hall also scored 14 goals into an open net from the far blue line in 24 seconds - just 1 goal short of the required 15 to win the grand prize $1 million in a windfall one-time payout.
