I have a special treat in store. Here is the trailer for Barta's film The Golem, for which he is currently trying to get funding. It looks like it would prove to be his finest yet, assuming it ever gets made. Even just what little is contained in these 2 clips is amazing...
I've just discovered the little-known but wonderful animation of Lindsay Van Blerk, director and animator par excellance of XYZoo Animation located in South Africa. They have produced some incredible stopmotion for Billy Budd Films, a company specialising in short animated films with a christian message. The videos and DVDs can be bought through the Adelante Project website.
The First Xmas
Way "down under" in Melbourne, Australia, there lives a highly talented jack-of-all-trades named Nick Hilligoss who concieves, designs, builds, and animates short nature-themed films overflowing with whimsical inventiveness. Visit his site for great tutorials on do-it-yourself foam latex puppets and lots of other stuff. Here's a taste:
This is a little clip I found on a Kratky Film tape. I have no idea what it is or who did it, but I like it.
I'm very proud to host this.... The Phantom Inventory! It's the entire short film, made by Franck Dion of France. It's the longest clip on my site at 9:42, and the file is 18.3 MBs.
the Phantom Inventory
Kim is a legend in stopmo circles, and these japanese commercials for the Nissin company are extremely rare... through my connections I've managed to track down a few.
Note... if this isn't loading right for you, the individual movie files are listed to the right under the Kim Blanchette section.
and Christine Roche
An incredible 10 minite film by Finnish animator Marjut Rimminen and Christine Roche. I got it down to 12 megs... as good as I can do, but it's well worth it! This is one of my favorites.... a mix of cell and stopmo animation woven into a twisted family drama held together and pushed to new heights by an excellent voiceover. This film reveals layers of meaning each time you watch it.
