Tashidelek and Namaste !

This web site belongs to Ven. Lama Ngawang Kochha (Rinpoche). Lama Kochha is reincarnation of Great Lama Ngawang Konchhok.

I paint Thankas and other pictures which reflect Buddhism and the Sherpa Culture as well as make Sand Mandalas.

I want to preserve Buddhist Art and Buddhist culture. Therefore I am painting thankas and giving training to students. My aim is to share ideas with villagers where I was born, Salleri Village, Solukhumbu, Nepal. I want to build a completely different type of Monastery in my village (where my grand father also built). Up to now, I have visited different parts of Nepal and other countries training in the art of Sand Mandalas. I want to extend the making of Sand Mandalas further and establish a Monastery in my region to promote Buddhism and my culture to other parts of the world.

This is my request to every one, "I would like to request all of you to help with fund raising. It is very important to make a school and monastery which will benefit all beings. I hope you will contribute in the future." I also want to contribute my earning by Thanka painting and Mandala making. There are so many kind of Thanka painting and my style of painting is based on traditional thanka art. Most often, I prefer the traditional way to paint thankas and sand mandalas. There are many kinds of thangka namely Changti, Outi, Khamti, Gyati but my paintings are based on Changti.

Finally, I request those who love art and culture to help me achieve my aim and if you provide me with a chance to show my talents, I'd be really grateful to you.
