When Colette graduated from the University of Toronto with a specialist degree in Biochemistry she knew that this knowledge would ultimately land her a job as a Hamiltonian housewife and mother of three. After many years of domestic training and the prospect of her youngest entering kindergarten Colette knew her days of bonbon eating on the couch were numbered.

After much persuasion from her partner, she was encouraged to bring the funny. Despite the lack of a theatre background, Colette agreed to try an improvisational drop-in workshop at The Staircase Theatre and between vomiting she was hooked.

After a year of improv training, and her 40th birthday looming, Colette felt she was uniquely qualified to continue her butterfly flight pattern in life and fluttered whole-heartedly into comedy. As a birthday present to herself she wrote, produced, directed and performed in her own one woman show, Tippi Seagram's Happy Hour and The Incomparable Tippi Seagram was born.

Colette's humour is candid, smart, tongue-in-cheek and right on the mark. She says out loud what most of us have the common sense to keep to ourselves. Colette has trained in improvisation with The Second City and has been a member of both the Hamilton Staircase Theatre and Bad Dog theatre mainstage casts. She has appeared in several festival bound independant features and performs stand-up regularly throughout Southern Ontario. The Montreal, Ottawa and London Fringe festivals are just the beginning of what Colette hopes will evolve into a cross Canada tour with Tippi.

Never a dull moment, when not performing, Colette acts as the Executive Director of The Hamilton Fridge Comedy Festival, the Mainstage Producer of The Toronto Improvisational Festival, hosts a monthly All-Vagina based Comedy night called The Cougar Cabaret as well as The Dawgskills, a weekly eclectic mix of sketch, improv, stand-up, burlesque and comedy in Toronto, all this while struggling to provide homework help to her three school-aged, bilingual children.
