The Horrors pull NME show tonight

Band's incident packed week continues

The Horrors have been forced to cancel their Shockwaves NME Awards Indie Rock Tour show tonight (February 10) in Cardiff.

Drummer Coffin Joe has been struck down with bronchitis and has been ordered by doctors to rest. It has left him unable to perform the Cardiff University gig.

It is unknown at present if he will be well enough to continue with the tour tomorrow at the Sheffield Octagon. If he is not, The Horrors are considering drafting in a substitute. NME.COM will bring you updates on this story as we get them.

The remaining three bands on the bill, The Automatic, The View and Mumm-Ra will all play tonight.

It's the second major incident for The Horrors in a week. Frontman Faris Rotter was taken to hospital on Wednesday night (February 7), after injuring himself during the Birmingham Carling Academy gig.

Speaking to NME.COM, the singer said: "I climbed on to the speaker stack and then pulled myself on to the balcony. Then I just slipped, but I managed to catch myself."

Rotter was then forced to go to hospital after the gig. He said: "My knee got sliced open and I had to go to A&E; - there was a lot of blood but the wound wasn't actually that bad. It opened an old wound I got in Nottingham about seven months ago when I jumped into the audience and landed on some broken glass."
