Profile
French-born Petit is a battling left-sided midfielder whose small frame earned him a nickname which stuck.
He is loved by supporters because of his never-say-die attitude, but is currently used mainly from the bench by Portugal. Petit started all three of Portugal’s matches at the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ but was only used as a substitute at UEFA Euro 2004, where he came on against Spain and the Netherlands.
He has two Portuguese championships to his name, with Boavista (2001) and current club Benfica (2005).
