The Super MutiTap is a multiplayer adapter made by Hudson Soft. The oddest thing about all the multiplayer adapters, is that is not are made by Nintendo, who manufactured the NES Four Score and NES Satellite 4 player adapters for the original Nintendo (Nintendo may have designed the specs for the 5 player adaptors, however, I am not sure). Also, unlike the Sega Genesis, which had two incompatible four player adapters for a while, all multiplayer adapters for the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom are all intercompatible. With a multiplayer adapter, you can play games with up to 5 players (four plugged in the adapter which is in controller port 2, and player one on the controller plugged into port 1). Only standard controllers can be used with a multiplayer adapter.

The Super MultiTap originally came with the Super Bomberman game for the SNES, then it was later sold seperately; the Super Bomberman/Super MultiTap combo package retailed for about $59.99, individually the adapter sold for about $29.95 (I believe).

Hudson also released the Super MultiTap 2, a Bomberman-style MultiTap. This was only available in Japan, and is functionally identical to the original MultiTap.
