Sorry today's cartoon is late. I've been fighting off a monster cold this week, and my writing backlog only carried me through Thursday, and yesterday I was in no condition to produce comics; I gambled that today would be better, and it is. I'm still not at 100%, but I'm distinctly on the mend.

By the way, I still have a few copies of books 2, 3 and 4 of the original Plan Nine Publishing series of O&M; books for sale (I'm sold out of books 1 and 5). $15, clearance price, once these are gone they're gone...e-mail me if you're interested.

Alert reader Khabok asks, of today's strip:

Shouldn't papa Lewellyn be speaking in Iambic Pentametre right now? That was with pie, right?

He's right. I established here, 11 months ago, that Llewellyn speaks in iambic pentameter when he makes pie.

Maybe I'll rewrite his line for the print edition, or make up some excuse. In any case, I blame the killer cold I'm in the process of getting over.

I think I need a little time off. I've been a bit overworked, what with, you know, additional work and the holidays and a lot of ideas arriving at my door at the same time. It's good thing, but it does require me to seek out the battery charger that is time off.

I may be away until the middle of next week, or so--I'm going to take this week to do things I've been failing to get to (writing new strips, but also making sure all the old ones are back in print before too long), and then I'll be away visiting my in-laws when the calendar rolls over into 2007.

Incidentally, my first inauspicious attempts at the strip that would become Ozy and Millie were drawn in January of 1997, when I was a college sophomore. So we're staring at some anniversaries. It really doesn't seem that long. This has me reflecting on where to take all of this, in year ten. I'd like to make it interesting, for my sake as much as yours.

Anyway, I'm rambling. But, I'll be back with new strips in the middle of the first week of the year; in the meantime, I'll post some sketches and such, in an effort to hold your attention. Be well. War is over (if you want it).

Okay, one more. It may seem early, but hey, everyone from Vilsack to Bayh to Brownback to Obama to to the auxiliary Clinton has announced or formed an exploratory committee, so, here you go. It's official. Llewellyn in '08. And the design is now in the store, so you can spread the word. May it cause a riot on some campus somewhere, like the first "I go Pogo" button is said to have done.

I did put up one more design in the store, possibly the quintessential Millie slogan, though she'd be the first to protest that her personality can't be distilled to a slogan.

I've also reorganized the store generally, so items are sorted by design rather than product type. If you're keen on one of the older designs, this holiday season might be the time to snap one up--next year I'm almost positive I'll finally retire some of the oldest.
