The new system will use employee ID numbers (EMPLID) instead of social security numbers (SSN). The EMPLID's will be included on the RAS statement received at the end of the year. Until that time, the SSN is needed in processing work in the current system. Click here for more Retiree News and Information.

CGC White Alder Memorial. Marine Safety Unit Baton Rouge maintains a memorial flag pole dedicated to all crew members who served on the CGC WHITE ALDER when she was tragically lost in the Mississippi River on December 7, 1968, killing 17 of her 21 crew. On December 7, 2008, the 40th anniversary of this tragic loss, MSU Baton Rouge would like to host a memorial service commemorating the lives of all 21 crew members. We must locate the remaining four crew members, or their families, and the families of the 17 crew members who lost their lives. More ...

    Commandant's National Retiree's Council

I am proud to announce that Fred's Place has been designated as a National Retiree Council At-Large due to the large number of retirees we have as members.

If you are a Coast Guard Retiree, you are encouraged to join a Local Council. However, if you do not have a Local Council nearby, you are welcome to join the Commandant's National Council At-Large right here at Fred's Place.

We have a brand new, jammed-packed, Retiree's Page full of links and information every retiree should know about. Plus we'll answer your question - So, what is the Commandant's National Retiree's Council and what does it do?

Interested? Want to know more? All you have to do is click here.
