Planes gone – but not forgotten
The parades and formalities lasted the best part of five hours, but the final act took just seconds.
Four Jaguars roared low over RAF Coltishall grouped in a tight diamond, until one of them suddenly pulled sharply upwards and out of sight through the white cloud.

Queen leads the poignant last goodbye

6 Squadron and the King of Jordan
Kings from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have been among the Royal visitors to RAF Coltishall over the years. The link with Jordan is more with 6 Squadron than the base and also means that 6 Squadron is unique in that it has two Royal standards.

Saving civilians part of base's history
The bright yellow helicopters of Coltishall's search and rescue crews were a familiar and welcome sight over the county's skies. Many a stricken fisherman, or pregnant mum stranded in snow drifts, was glad of the cheery chugging arrival of a local 'copter crew to save them.
