ANN Part 4

Filed under: All Night Nippon, Hana Yori Dango 2 — Lily @ 9:39 am

I’m currently listening to HYD2 navi while typing this up… ^^ Oh, don’t ask for navi translation. It’s all just past scenes.

Anyways… so part 4 is 6 pages handwritten.
I know translations of this came out while I was doing ep8 but I don’t want to stop a project in the middle, so I’m just going to continue. Besides, I want to see how many pages two hour will take me. I can do this off the computer so I don’t feel like wasting time. However, I will put a disclaimer that… if you find any discrepancies, it’s because I interpreted their words differently from whoever translated it (I don’t know by how much because I didn’t read theirs). If you have any questions, just ask me and I’ll explain to you why I translated that part that way.

O: We are accepting emails from our listeners. Please send all emails to oguri@allnightnippon.com. We’ll be waiting for your question for me, things you want to know, comments, criticisms, and just about everything.

O: We’ve got a ton of email, so I would like to start sharing them. This one’s from Mayuna-san in Aichi Prefecture. Thank you, Mayuna-san.
J: Thank you.
O: “There’s something I want to ask the two of you. What do you call the other actors? Do you have nicknames? Please tell me!
J: Oguri Shun-kun has the nickname horseface.
O: Honestly, what–
J: What?
O: What is up with you?
J: Hm, it’s the first time we’ve said it to you, but people use it a lot.
O: They do? Behind my back?
J: There’s also this rumor that you don’t like your below-shots.
O: You’re the only one who believes that.
J: Why does it bother you so much? So the thing is, when the camera zooms in on him from below, he always look at himself later and stays he looks horrible.
O: The thing with me is, there’s quite a distance from the chin to the tip of my bottom lip.
J: Distance? You call that distance?
O: Yeah, and so when I raise my chin and the camera zooms in from below, it looks huge! Really. And then I think “Oh god, I look horrible.”
J: It’s not that big.
O: I had no idea people were talking about it. But moving on, I recently started calling Matsumoto Jun-kun “Macchan.”

[ Sounds like Maccha which means green tea :P ]

J: Yeah, everyone’s been trying to use that.
O: But like, with the last name “Matsumoto” your nickname has to be “Macchan”, right?
J: LIke Matsumoto-san in Downtown?

[ You MUST know him. He’s the bold guy who hosts Hey~x3 ]

O: With “Matsuda” too. Like, with all last names that start with “Matsu…”

[ I used to have a friend whose nickname was Matsu-Miku. So Shun’s wrong here ^^ ]

O: But you’ve never been called Macchan before.
J: Nope, never.
O: Yeah, and instead he gets called something stupid like Matsujun.
J: Something stupid, huh.
O: That’s why I want to make people use Macchan. SO next time, if you send emails, please make the subject “I have a question for Macchan.”
J: I’ll go home if I get five of those. I’ll put up with four. If I get a fifth one, I’ll go home.
O: So… weren’t you saying a lot of stuff today about coming here?
J: Yeah. I told everyone “I”m going to go to Oguri Shun-kun’s place.” I was with Mao-chan until… noon-ish and when I told her I’m going, she said “Oh, okay. Good luck.” And I thought, since I brought it up, I might as well, so I told her “I’ll call you tonight.”
O: Oh. So we don’t have a nickname for Mao-chan but..
J: Now that you mention it, we don’t.
O: Mao-chan’s just Mao-chan, right?
J: Yeah.
O: So do you want to ask her what her nickname for everyone is? Or do you wan tot ignore her and keep going?
J: Then… let’s pause for a second and ignore her.
O: You haven’t paused at all. I bet Mao-chan’s listening to this thinking she’ll get a call and then turning over (anime style).
J: So should we call her?
O: Let’s call her.
J: Okay. It’ll be really funny if someone completely different picks up.
O: I suppose since it’s midnight and all, it’ll be bad if I call the wrong person.
J: Do you know her number? You can’t call the wrong number.
O: I know. Let’s try calling her.

O: So what are you planning to talk to her about?
J: Nothing in particular.
O: You haven’t thought about it?
J: Not at all. I don’t usually think about those things.
O: I see.
J: I mean, since it’s your radio show, you should be the one planning this.

J: The phone’s ringing.
O: Huh? Why is the phone ringing? Oh, it stopped.
J: What? What was that?
O: Then let’s call her. Mao-chan, we’re going to call you now. Are you listening?
J: It’ll be funny if she had her cellphone off.
O: If that’s the case, it’s understandable. Mao-chan and Jun-kun was filming until–

Phone: Please press 186 (area code)

O: Oh, oops.
J: Oh, it’s vibrating.
O: So anyways, they were filming until 6am this morning.
J: Yep.
O: And they also started filming again at noon, so Mao-chan may be so tired she fell asleep already.
J: Yeah, I won’t be surprised if she’s sleeping. Oh, it’s ringing.
O: Let’s see if she picks up.
J: If the answering machine picks up, let’s leave a message until the end of the recording.

  22. alexthegirl62: Actually my name isn’t Riri ^^ It’s a very common Japanese name. It’s been overused in anime and manga >.>

    Comment by Lily — March 1, 2007 @ 11:05 am

  23. Oops. Sorry. hehe That was me going overboard with the Japanese. :D
And I read your updates AFTER listening. I’m a smart one aren’t I. Anyways, please know that your efforts are really really appreciated. Thank you!!!
