by Chas St.George
IDITAROD XXXV MUSHER Butch Austin, (Bib #53) made the decision to scratch at 8 am this morning, (March 06, 2007) at Finger Lake Checkpoint in the Alaska Range. The Fruita Colorado musher scratched due to injuries incurred before the race began. The 58 year old musher arrived in Finger Lake early yesterday evening and after careful consideration, he decided that it was best for his team to scratch in Finger Lake.
