2006 TSN Fantasy Draft

Do you think the Senators should make a trade? Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup? What do you think of the Flames' chances this year? These are just some the questions often asked of TSN's panel of hockey experts, but they're rarely ever asked, "Who do I take first in my fantasy pool?" With that in mind, TSN's Bob McKenzie, Pierre McGuire, Dave Hodge, Glenn Healy and Keith Jones were charged with the task of building their own fantasy teams. The parameters were simple - all five TSN personalities took part in an eight-round snake-style draft, and had to select three forwards, two defencemen, a goaltender, one rookie and a sleeper pick. See how your fantasy projections compare to those of our hockey experts.

ROUND 3

Synopsis: It's Glenn's turn again as he selects Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson. Bob makes it two Senators forwards taken in Round 3 by picking Dany Heatley. Brad Richards got a huge contract over the summer to stay in Tampa, but Pierre gets his services for free with the 13th pick. Pavel Datsyuk is expected to help lead the Red Wings in the post-Yzerman era, and Keith grabs him next. Dave turns a few heads with his compulsory rookie pick, going with 2006 first-round selection Phil Kessel from the Bruins.
