"The Next One"
Sidney Crosby
Listen to the interviewClick to listen to RealAudio file. (runs 29:16)

Sidney Crosby of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia has created a sensation in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this year. Fans who haven't bothered coming out to a game for ages are packing the rinks all around the league to see the 16 year old player who has been called "The Next One" by Wayne Gretzky himself.

This week on Maritime Magazine, host Norma Lee MacLeod meets Sidney himself and also visits his home to find out more about how he developed as a hockey star and as a boy. Mom Trina Crosby talks about how she and her husband are helping him enjoy the game and his growing reputation in the hockey world.

Maritime Magazine producer Pat Martel discusses Crosby's hockey skills and prospects with a coach who worked with him when he was younger, Allan Andrews and a sports journalist who has covered his rise to prominence, Bruce Rainnie.
