The 48th Japan Record Taishou
I watched this on TV yesterday on KTSF from 8:30 ~ 11:30pm and 12:00 ~ 1:00am. I think I might have missed the first 30 minutes, so keep in mind that the info below is only for the parts I’ve seen.
It’s similar to the Academy Awards, I think. It’s a prestigeous award for musicians.
There are several categories, but the only ones that were interesting to me were
Gold Award
New Artist Award
Special Award
and Songwriter Award.
In between performanced by the award recipients, they were also showing clips of the old Record Taishou, starting from the late 70s into the late 90s.
