ANN Part 3

Filed under: All Night Nippon, Hana Yori Dango 2 — Lily @ 4:34 pm

Ugh, I feel so bad… I can see there are a lot more visitors today, and I bet everyone came here expecting translations done already like last week, only to find I’m just translating ANN… I bet I’m disappointing soo many people~~ I’m really sorry!

Torrent is at 46kB/s, and I’ve got 3 hours left now…

O: So Jun, what are you usually doing at this hour?
J: Let’s see… since I’m in the drama right now, I might be working, or…
O: But then again, you’re really busy, aren’t you?
J: I guess… because I’m a Johnny’s? That sounds like I’m bragging.
O: And yet you’ve still got so much endurance. Why?
J: Why?
O: Yeah, why are you such a tough guy? I don’t know about the guy part, but you’re definitely tough.
J: I guess I am.
O: I mean, even after we finish filming and whether it’s with producers or with directors, whenever you get invited for dinner and stuff to talk about where the drama’s going, you always come. You always come, and stay until the very end, even if you need to get up really early the next day. And the next day, you go to work, and you’re actually working too. Not to mention you’re an idol. You can’t look bad, no matter what.
J: There’s the visual aspect, I suppose.
O: And you’ve got all that down too. I really respect you for that.
J: But here’s one thing I can say. I don’t know when’s the right time to leave.
O: Ah, I get it.
J: Like, we all start drinking, right? And I really admire the person who can say “Then I guess I’ll be leaving now.” I don’t know when it’s appropriate to bring that “Then I guess I will…” phrase out.
O: But there are lots of times when it’s inappropriate, right? Like when everyone’s talking, you start to think, I shouldn’t say it now because everyone’s really into this conversation. You also don’t want to miss whatever they’re going to say, or whatever that’s going to happen after you leave, right?
J: Exactly. That’s why you end up staying until the very end.

[ Me. I’m guilty of that too… of course, not alcohol-related. ]

O: I guess we’ll continue like this so…
J: The background music has already finished playing.
O: So everyone, please stay tuned for the next two hours.
J: Please and thank you!

O: Oguri Shun and Matsumoto Jun’s All Night Nippon will be brought to you by Bandai, etc. etc. etc. (sponsors) This broadcast is delivered to all 36 stations nationwide from the central station at Nippon Broadcast in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

[ I have to say… it’s one thing listening to the sponsor part in the drama… it’s a whole another thing listening to the sponsor part being narrated by Oguri Shun. That’s what I was laughing about last night. ]

O: Then, our first song is of course, this one. Jun-kun, please introduce the song.
J: Sung by Arashi, Wish!
O: Nonononono
J: Oh, Love so Sweet. It’s in store today!

~~~~ Love so Sweet ~~~~
[ Aaah I should have cut Part 2 off here. I didn’t know the song was going to come on soon, and I was doing by 5-min so part 2 ended at around 10-minute mark. The song started at… 11-minute mark? Current torrent status: 19hours x_x ]
[ I totally didn’t pay attention… I was answering comments :P ]
O: Thanks to the stupid Jun-kun, we almost froze to death. What you just heard was Love so Sweet that’ll go on sale today.
[ Aaaaah I get it. So in Japan, bad jokes gives you goosebumps, just as the cold do, so when people say “brrr it’s getting chilly here” or “why is it suddenly so cold?” they’re implying that the joke just told was really bad. And… Shun has finally realized Jun’s been making jokes, and he said “we almost froze to death because it was so bad!” ]
O: And then, this stupid Jun-kun here will…
J: Hold on. What do you mean, stupid?
O: (ignoring) This stupid Jun-kun here will be our special guest tonight.
J: Hi, I’m Stupid.
O: We are now accepting emails for questions for Jun-kun. Whether it’s a question you want to ask Jun-kun, or a topic you want him to talk about, or a question you have for both Matsujun-kun and me, whatever they may be, feel free to email us.
J: Matsujun-kun…?
O: The email address is oguri@allnightnippon.com. Please make the subject something like “Question for Jun-kun.” We’ll be waiting for all your emails!
O: Oguri Shun and
J: Matsumoto Jun’s
OJ: All Night Nippon!!
[ I just LOVE how Matsujun says “Maaaaatsumoto Jun”. It sounds really cool. ]
  6. Lily, no apologies necessary, and don’t pay attention to the rude comments that you’ll get (OMG WHERE’S TEH SUBS GIMMEGIMMEGIMME). It’s quite impossible to translate something you can’t see or read, I’m sure.
